R84 per 600g / R140 per kg

Note about 'Organic' status:
Our oats are still coming from the same supplier, however are no longer certified organic. Generally certification to be organic is very expensive, whereby these oats are grown in the same way and with the same process - so we still consider them organic :)

Oats are a cereal grain that are widely consumed as a food source. They are rich in nutrients and have many health benefits.

Oats are a good source of fiber, particularly a type of fiber called beta-glucan, which has been shown to lower cholesterol levels and improve heart health. They are also a good source of protein, vitamins, and minerals, including manganese, phosphorus, and magnesium.

Oats can be consumed in many forms, such as rolled oats, steel-cut oats, quick oats, and instant oats. Rolled oats, also known as old-fashioned oats, are the most common type and are often used in baking or as a hot cereal. Steel-cut oats, also known as Irish oats or pinhead oats, are made by chopping whole oat groats into smaller pieces and are often used in oatmeal or porridge. Quick oats and instant oats are more processed and have a finer texture, making them quicker to cook, but they may have a higher glycemic index due to their more processed nature.

Oats can be used in a variety of dishes, such as oatmeal, granola, cookies, and bread. They can also be ground into oat flour and used as a gluten-free alternative to wheat flour.

Oats are considered to be a nutritious food and have several potential health benefits, including:

  1. Improved heart health: Oats are high in fiber, particularly a type of fiber called beta-glucan, which has been shown to lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease.

  2. Better digestion: The fiber in oats can help regulate digestion and prevent constipation.

  3. Blood sugar control: The complex carbohydrates in oats are absorbed slowly, which can help stabilize blood sugar levels and prevent spikes in insulin.

  4. Weight management: The fiber and protein in oats can help you feel full and satisfied, which may lead to reduced calorie intake and weight loss.

  5. Nutrient density: Oats are a good source of nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, which may help protect against chronic diseases.

  6. Gluten-free option: Oats are naturally gluten-free, making them a good alternative to wheat products for people with celiac disease or gluten intolerance.

Overall, incorporating oats into your diet can provide a range of health benefits and contribute to a healthy, balanced diet.
