5th Bearthday Celebration

It's been a wild journey!

5 years ago, around the 6th or 7th of June 2017, Cosmic Bazaar was conceived. At the time, it was just a concept, a vision, and an exciting idea to share conscious and natural products. From the get go we knew we were onto something — to create a wholesome platform to showcase a range of holistic goodies. Our initial range consisted of only a few things: incense, crystals, a few 2nd hand clothes and trinkets, and our star product at the time, Canna Salve (birthed in our kitchen a week or 2 earlier). We started going to markets and festivals, and a year later started an online shop. From there things really started to take off — getting our goodies into stockists, cannabis expos, doing multiple markets a week (with our friends at Aether), and the word spreading through family and friends. We continued to work hard, and bring in new products almost every week. Our growth was exponential and we very soon needed more people to come on board.

In 2019, through the magic of cosmic synchronicity, Cyrin and Aoife spontaneously joined Dylan in a house share in Cape Point, creating a pivotal expansion to the power of 3, and soon to be 4 with Tarn coming on board. The Cosmic clan family continued growing, and before long the Joylings (Aoife & Tarn) gave birth to little Ayla too. We all operated & lived together in our house on the hill, working out of a small home office that we used to pack our orders and make our medicines.

Then 2020 hit. Over the lockdown period we expanded into our first space away from home — our little sanctuary in beautiful Glencairn. Our mini depot was much needed to process our growing amount of orders. And as this happened we continued to form strong lifelong bonds & community on our beautiful farm. Soon after Merlyn joined, followed by Ruth and Sinead. Our dreams were really coming into reality as our depot space took shape, filling every corner of the small space with our growing range of foods, medicines, and holistic goodies.

In early to mid 2021, things shifted again when a few members of the original team decided to move across the country, to pursue the dream of living in community on a farm called Khula Dharma in the Eastern Cape. Throughout this journey we continued to interweave business, friendship and community into our lives. Adele & Bonnie came on board during this time, and Haydn shortly after.

Later last year, just as we were getting into a good flow with the new ways of working and co-working, the next exciting chapter started. In November 2021 we moved our little depot to our current 'mothership' warehouse. Through absolute fate and divine fortune, we landed in a beautiful nature reserve near Cape Point. Here we have grown even more abundantly, and the team has welcomed Chloe, Nelle, Tom, Milo, Gen, David and Merlyn.

It's truly divine destiny & synchronicity how everything has unfolded over the past 5 years. We've navigated such huge shifts personally, communally and globally, together evolving Cosmic Bazaar into what it is today. Our ethos and love for what we do has really created the momentum for us to continue going and growing.

5 years is a real pinnacle point for many businesses, the number 5 representing transition, change and freedom. This really resonates, as we continue to create solid foundations on which we can build our ideal individual lives, whilst serving our customers and broader community. It's a deep process doing this all together, and we're so blessed to be co-creating this beautiful dream.

We so look forward to the next chapter — opening our doors to the public again and welcoming in new collaborations across the globe!
