Tabernanthe iboga is a shrub of the dogbane family, growing in the rainforest understorey of Gabon and across into Cameroon and the Congo. Glossy elliptical leaves in opposite pairs, small cream tubular flowers in loose clusters, and a smooth ovoid fruit that ripens from green to a deep yellow-orange.

The product uses the root bark: it is dried and milled to a pale, fibrous powder.

Eboka is the Bwiti name printed on the tube. In Gabon, iboga has a long history within Bwiti initiation ceremonies, where its use takes place communally and under supervision. This product contains a much smaller measured amount of dried root bark.

The capsule

What is in a capsule

Each capsule contains 100mg of dried iboga root bark and 400mg of okra powder. The milled okra gives the small quantity of bark enough bulk to fill the capsule evenly.

Iboga root bark contains indole alkaloids, including ibogaine. The dried bark is not standardised, so alkaloid content can vary between plants.

The product is sold as a microdose, meaning the amount in each capsule is much smaller than a ceremonial dose.

The week

4 or 5 days, then a break

Take 1 capsule on 4 or 5 days of the week, followed by 2 or 3 days off. Both versions make a seven-day cycle.

After about 2 months, stop and re-evaluate before beginning another cycle.

Start with 1 capsule to see how you respond. The five-capsule pouch is a practical way to try the stated routine before buying a full tube.

Do not take iboga if any of the following apply:

Psychotic and schizophrenic disorders. Cerebellar dysfunction. Coagulation abnormalities or a history of blood clots. Uncontrolled diabetes. Emphysema. Crohn's disease. Chronic fainting. Gastric ulcer. Heart disease, heart murmurs, or heart arrhythmia. Uncontrolled high blood pressure. Active blood infections. Severe obesity. Pneumonia. Kidney disease. Liver disease with liver enzymes over four times normal. Pregnancy. Stroke.

Iboga and ibogaine carry serious risks and should be used only with guidance from an experienced practitioner. Ibogaine is controlled or prohibited in some countries, so check the law where you live before ordering or using it.

Dosing

Finding a rhythm you can keep

Take 1 capsule on a dose day. Follow either 4 days on and 3 off, or 5 days on and 2 off. Try a single capsule first, and stop after about 2 months to re-evaluate.

Four on, three off

The lighter end of that range: 4 dose days, then 3 days without.

16 dose days in four weeks on the Four a week schedule — four on, three off, repeating. Most people run a schedule for about six weeks before taking a longer break.

Iboga

It’s a week later after I finished the whole micro dose , my experience, day one I took one on a full stomach I felt a buzz through out my body from like 5 minutes. Second day I took took one again I had pain on the back of my neck and on my eye . On the 3rd day I took 1 I felt nothing physical but I noticed calmness mentally I played with my toddler and enjoyed myself normally I would get bored and tired but my mind was still and I was fully present with my child and this has stayed on since . After the first four days I took a two day break and started to take two capsules a day I felt stronger while working out I enjoyed going outside and just being in the garden in nature, i did feel chest pains when I took the micro dose while dehydrated so I would say drinking plenty of water to avoid that , am grateful to cosmic bazaar for my birthday i like to treat myself to their products
