Ethically Harvested
The propolis is harvested using pollen traps placed inside the hive that encourage bees to deposit propolis on them. The material collected is separate from the propolis the bees normally rely on to protect the hive.

How Bees Make Propolis
When trees are injured, they release protective resin to heal the wound. Bees collect this resin and transform it into propolis by mixing it with wax. Inside the hive, it is used to seal gaps and strengthen the structure while protecting the colony from pathogens due to its powerful antimicrobial qualities.
Extraction
Fresh propolis is divided and slowly extracted using virgin olive oil over several months. This gentle process allows the beneficial compounds to infuse fully before the extract is blended with beeswax and raw honey to create the finished balm.
